![]() O Captain! my captain! our fearful trip is done. Accomplish more than I could have thought. So instead, I write about a man who's leadership help me grow. A chance to rise above the muck and myre. It was a hard fought war and in the end, I am better for it and thankful to the man who once gave an unlearned kid the chance to succeed. In the hard fought battle, we battled and we conquered. So in my hard fought fight, I was able to grow a business and eventually become a competitor to David and our organizations came to be a great partner to a prominent company in Calgary. I trust in the passions in which I have been gifted and in all of it, I know who's strength I rely on. I was a Christian when I worked for David. ~~~ Side note: if the whole "Worship Pastor" title didn't give it away already, I am a Christian. Without the failings, where could I have grown from? Without the lack of confidence, how could I have yearned to developed into the person I am today? Without me going through the demeaning comments, I would have never developed the stomach for business. Well this was a point in my life that this quote takes hold. " Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." It did not take away from the hurt and pain that emotionally exasperated my energies while I worked for him but it acted as fuel. To strive for something more than what I was. To pursue a goal that challenged me in many aspects. You see, in what David did in his crude leadership, he actually inspired me to pursue business. How could I hypocritically write about a man who demeaned others, in my pursuit to do the same? I wanted to quote a famous line from Sun Tzu's, The Art of War, or from one of Dale Carnegie's line of work, but something in me churned and did not sit right. Instead I find myself asking for forgiveness. ![]() In my last post, I thought I would be discussing the necessity to divulge the systematic undoing of David my Goliath. ![]()
